Wood Never Looked So Good

Maintaining a wood deck regularly keeps it looking great. Here are some tips to ensuring you love your deck for years to come:

Regular Cleaning: Keep it clean by using a mild detergent and water to scrub the surface and remove any stains.

Pressure Washing: Pressure washing your deck once a year to remove signs mold, mildew and staining. High pressure can cause damage, instead use a lower pressure setting and keep the nozzle moving to avoid gouging the wood.

Sealing or Staining: Apply a sealant or stain to protect the wood from moisture, UV rays, and general wear and tear.

Inspect for Damage: Regularly inspect your deck for any signs of damage such as loose boards, nails or screws sticking out, or rotting wood. Replace any damaged boards and tighten any loose fasteners to ensure the structural integrity of the deck.

Trim Plants and Trees: Trim back any plants or trees that are encroaching on your deck to prevent moisture buildup and mold growth.

Protective Measures: Place mats or protective pads under heavy furniture to prevent scratches and indentations on the wood.

Mold and Mildew: If you notice any mold or mildew growth on your deck, take care of it sooner rather than later using water and mild detergent or a specialized deck cleaner.
